Hollywood-Sunset Free Clinic Benefit, 2001
| Robert was one of the organizers and host of this 3-day pop festival to benefit the Hollywood-Sunset Free Clinic. The event was held at Paramour estate, Silver Lake in Los Angeles, on December 13-15. He had spent many months preparing, planning, and recruiting musicians and artists. Robert joined Elton John and Sting on stage to duette in "I Want Love" and "Every Breath You Take". Ticket prices was high ($250, $500 and $1000) but all 1,750 were sold. Other hosts and performers were: Deborah Falconer, Beck, Rufus Wainright, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Christina Ricci, Johnny Knoxville, Ione Skye, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Donovan Leitch, and more... Last year's show (Robert was a spokesperson there too) raised nearly $500,000, and this event was expected to have brought in even more. Robert was also presented a plaque by the local councilman and staff members of the Sunset Free Clinic. AUDIO |
